Alongside the Tesla Semi Truck, Elon Musk recently announced the the next generation of the company’s first car, the Tesla Roadster, to be launched in 2020. The car will be much more powerful than the original Roadster, with a 0-60 time of 1.9 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 8.8 seconds, and it will eventually reach a top speed of over 250 mph. Along with that outrageously fast acceleration and top speed, the Roadster will have a massive 200 kWh battery pack that will give it a range of over 600 miles. The estimated price tag of the Tesla Roadster will be $200,000, while the Founder’s Edition will cost $250,000 and only 1,000 will be made.
Not much more is known about the upcoming next generation of the Tesla Roadster, but if you already know that you want to have one and want to get in line now, you can out down your deposit to the tune of $50,000. Or if you want to get your hands on the Founder’s Edition Tesla Roadster, you will have to put down the entire $250,000 now to reserve it.
